  1. This game is often played at wakes in this district. A number of boys or men sit in a circle on the floor. One will stand in the middle of the circle. Now one of those in the circle hits the one in the middle with a short hay rope brought in for the purpose.
    He then tries to pass the rope to someone else in the circle, while the one standing tries to grab it at the same time. If the latter gets the rope, then the one who struck him will have to take his place in the circle and the game starts again.
