- Shops were not common in olden times as there was only one shop in every district. The people had to go to the nearest town to buy things. Buying and selling was carried on after mass long ago.
They used to sell fruit, eggs, jam, sugar, fish, matches, cigarettes and Tobacco.
Money was not always giving for goods but the people used to exchange goods.
It is unlucky to drink on a Sunday.
The markets used to be held near the towns.
- Years ago most of the Dwelling houses of the people in this country were built of mud and thatched with straw or rushes. They were mud walled cabins. They were usually very small(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
