  1. Shops were not common in olden times as there was only one shop in every district. The people had to go to the nearest town to buy things. Buying and selling was carried on after mass long ago.
    They used to sell fruit, eggs, jam, sugar, fish, matches, cigarettes and Tobacco.
    Money was not always giving for goods but the people used to exchange goods.
    It is unlucky to drink on a Sunday.
    The markets used to be held near the towns.
