- Farrelly's fort Loughanstown Rathowen
(on lands of Wm Muleady Loughanstown) Two brothers of old Farrelly's wife (uncles of present Mrs Muleady) ploughed inside the fort. They had as fine a butt(?) of a five or six year old mare as ever was worked. They let out the mare and she was feeding inside the fort, and when they went to look for her they found her dead on the hole.
Molphy's FortMrs Molphy mother of Charley Molphy, Farmer, Loughanstown (Charley who died) about seven years ago aged 70 approx)In Mrs Molphy's time they cut a bush out of the fort. The cows were at the end of the house and the door left open. The men were working in the fields and no one could pass unknownst to her, and when the men were coming in they saw the cow's tail cut and they did not know how it happened until the following day when they went up to the fort they saw the cow's tail twisted round the stump where they cut the bush.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
