    About 90 years ago there lived a man in Rathowen the name of Flood, and he took a disease from his own horse called Farcy and he died from it and when he died no one would wash him or put him in the coffin. There was a Fr. O'Donnell stopping in Loughanstown and he attended him and with the help of another man he put him into the coffin clothes an all upon a cart and when they came up a few perch up the Cnoc na Fise road (Loughanstown lane) at Darcy's Pool the coffin fell off the cart and into the pool and the lid fell off and the priest threw his stole about his neck and towld the few men that was behind to get in and wash him
