    This story was told by an old lady Miss Drew in Ballynacargy it is a very true story.

    This story was told by an old lady Miss Drew in Ballynacargy it is a very true story. Long years ago when fairies were out, there was a path called the fairies path. So it happened that two houses were built on the fairies path. This fairies path was up in Irishtown. The families who lived in these two houses were Flemings and Glynns. It was on the 1st April and there was a big fair in Mullingar. The Flemings had cattle to bring to the fair. The two Fleming girls stayed up until half past twelve. When it came to twelve o'clock the two girls could hear terrible shouting and screaming and bells ringing the same as if girls were coming out from school . The girls got afraid they called the two boys to go to the fair. The boys heard the noise and
