The Bleachyard
Long ago there was a bleachyard in Mullingar, County Westmeath. It stretched from the Goal Hill to the River Brosna, which was also called the River of the Divisions. It was owned by a man named Rouse. There were flax markets held in the town, and the flax was sold to the weavers, and it was left int he River Brosna to steep. when it was steeped it was brought to the scutch mill where it was scutched, after that it was woven, and combed, one of the weavers was named Sherlock. when it was woven it turned out to be a dull or(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
