    The following rhyme is said by the Wren Boys. They often call the bird the "wran" and shout out the rhyme saying
    "The wran, the wran
    The king of all birds
    St Stephen's Day
    She was caught in the furze
    Although she is little
    Her family is great
    So rise up, Madam
    And give us our "trate"
    Up with the kettle
    Down with the pan
    Give us our ransome
    And let us begone.
