Ar an leathanach seo

  1. A mermaid lives at the bottom of the sea. Half of her is a fish, and the other half a human being. She has long yellow hair and is supposed to be always combing it, and holding a looking glass in her hand. A mermaid was taken ashore in Ireland a long time ago.
    She is supposed to be able to talk. When she is seen from a ship the ship is believed to sink. She brings bad luck to the person that sees her. A woman from Raharney said that she was on a ship and one of the persons on deck said they saw a mermaid. They all went up on deck and they saw her, but though the ship was not sunk she brought bad luck to this
