- In 1903 there was a great storm. There was a wood in Clonyn and it was so thick that you could not look through it and after the storm there was not a tree to be seen standing. The roads were lined with fallen trees and no one could travel. The farmers suffered very much because their oats and hay were scattered about. Some of the thatched houses suffered very much also, The roofs were blown off the most of them. The galvanised sheds were blown great distances. There were very few lives lost.
