  1. Weather Lore 15-12-37
Many and varied are the sayings about the weather. Here are some I know.
When the sun rises red there will be rain and often it is true.
When the new moon lies on its back, it is going to rain, too.
When there is a halo round the moon there will be a strorm. An old proverb says "A near halo is a far off storm".
When the stars shine keenly there will be frost, and, when you see a star falling, you will have rain. Some people say when they see a star falling, that it is a soul going to heaven. People round Loughcrew say that when the wind blows from Moylough, it will rain, When the sun sets red in the evening there will be good weather for "A red sky at night is a shepherd's delight, a red sky in the morning is a shepherd's warning.
