  1. My grandmother told me the following:-
There is a ghost supposed to be seen at the four gates not far from Monknewtown on the Drogheda road. A woman named Bridget Supple lived in a house below Rossin bridge. She went out to the field one morning to plant potatoes, and she was got dead in the field in the evening. This field is beside the four gates. Her ghost was seen to come across one of the four gates and walk down the road as far as the bridge, then she disappeared out the gate that is still to be seen the near side of the bridge.
