- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)It is said that a man tried to dig down into it to see could he find treasure in it. The first spadeful he took away he heard a voice say "Beware" go away and leave out home alone." The man got frightened and ran away and it was never interfered with it since.
- There are two or three fairy forts in this district. One of them is called 'The Moat' and the other is called the Splink. The moat is in a townland called Dowth and the Splink is in Knockmooney. When standing at the moat the Splink can be seen in the distance. The moat is a kind of hill and the Splink is a mound with many bushes growing on it. There is a wire fence around the Splink.
It is supposed that fairies live in these forts and that they can be seen every night playing and dancing near the forts. Some people say that they saw them. It is said that one time two men heard that there was money in the Moat. They set out one night(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile) - Bailitheoir
