    The people made their own clothes with the wool they got from their sheep. They spun the wool with spinning wheels.

    Thatching was done on the houses because there were no slates at that time. People thatched their house with straw. There is a man who used to thatch houses in this district McGillick is his name.
    Woodwork.
    Chairs and tables and presses and barrels were made by the carpenters or by the people themselves.
    Burning of lime.
    The people used to burn lime in kilns and then put it round potatoes and cabbage to keep the slugs from eating them.
