Saturday is an unluck day for going to a new house for "Saturday's flitting makes short sitting".
On New Year's Day it is unlucky to throw out water or anything becase you would then be throwing out the luck of the year.
On the first Monday of the New Year it is considered unlucky to part with money.
Long ago there was an old cow and she was always cold and she was longing for March to be over till the good weather would come. Then March got offended and said "We will skin this old cow."
