  1. The common birds of this district are the thrush, robin, wren, blackbird, yellow hammer, pigeon crow and the lark. The birds that migrate are, the cuckoo, swallow and the wild geese. The robin builds her nest in a mossy bank. It is made from moss and lined with feathers and hair. The blackbird builds her nest in a bush. It is made from hay and is plastered on the inside and outside with clay. the thrushes nest is the same. The wren builds the neatest nest of all the birds. She makes it from moss and lines it with hair and feathers. It is a round nest like a ball with a little hole in the side. She makes it in a bush or an old house. The pigeon builds her nest on top of a tall tree with a couple of sticks and a little hay. The crow builds her nest with sticks on the top of a high tree. The sparrow builds her nest in the eave of a house. She makes it from mud and hay.
