   The robin is a very small bird with a red breast. She builds a nest of hair and moss. She lays five or six eggs and hatches them for three weeks. The colour of the eggs in red and white. The story is told that our Lord was crossing a field one day and drops of blood fell from his feet. The robin came and rubbed her breast where the drops fell and the soldiers could not follow our Lord and that is how the robin got her red breast.

   The swallows come in April or May and go in September. The swallows build their nests of feathers and hay and mud and lays four or five eggs and hatches them for three weeks. When the young swallows come out the father and mother birds feed them with worms. The weather can be judged by the swallows: if they are flying high it is the sign of good weather and if they are flying low it is the sign of bad weather. If the swallows do not come
