- (Story told by John Fagan aged 65 to his nephew Thomas Fagan pupil Nobber Boys School, and now set down as related by John Fagan, by Philip Carolan. Nobber B. School).Tradition says that the River Dee is the valley of the black pig. Now this black pig was a teacher who used to read himself and his pupils into black pigs, and while in this form they travelled all over the country.
