  1. A Fairy Story.
This story was told by Patrick Cusack, age 52, Corcar, Kilmainhamwood, Co. Meath to his son Patrick.
A long time ago there lived a man at Shancor, Kilmainhamwood named Owen Murphy who has a fort on his land.
Owen had a large farm and kept seven cows. When the last cow was milked she used to spill it.
One evening as this man was passing by the fort he heard a child crying and he heard the mother say "don't cry Murphy is late milking his cows this evening, we will have plenty of milk soon". He then saw a fairy woman with a child in her arms.
He went home and told his wife and she took care that no cow would spill her milk that evening.
On the next morning one of the cows was got dead and before long all his cows died.
It was said that if he had let the cow spill the milk every evening the fairies would never harm him.
