    Still sad and lamenting like the banshee a-"keening",
    But not as a warning is dear Ireland's prayer,
    But that freedom and peace may be the glad meaning
    In the sad, mourning voice of the winds of Kildare.
    The above poem was composed and written two years ago after the annual excursion to the grave of Wolfe Tone in Bodenstown churchyard.
    Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.

    Only a cot in a calm little spot
    There is the soft moonbeams;
    Lowly and small yet homely withal
    And the cradle of all my dreams.
    'Twas there as a child I sobbed and I smiled
    And dreamt of the glories before
    But standing to-night in the moon's mellow light
    I feel that my hopes are no more.
