    Daisy-chains:-
    Girls in this district make daisy-chains. The split the stem of one daisy and put the stem of another through the split. They keep on doing so till it is the right length to make a necklace or coronet. They also thread dandelions in this way.
    Haw-blowers:- Haw-blowers are made by scooping the pith out of an elder branch. Haws are blown through these.
    Catapults:- Catapults are made by the boys in this town. First they cut a fork of a tree which is about one inch diameter and they tie a strip of rubber cut from a bus-tube to each of the prongs. Then they join the loose ends of the rubber with a piece of leather. To fire it they put a stone in the leather and pull it back and let it go and the stone flies.
