  1. The Mother has a great cure for coughs. If equal quantities of brown sugar and butter are mixed and a spoonful taken when a severe attack comes the sufferer will find great relief.

  2. Get a lump of lime and boil it in water. Mix the same amount of sweet oil as you have water, leave to set. When set apply it to the scald and this will make it better.
