- Long ago in New Lane, An Uairn there lived a pack of men that were too lazy to work and they were very fond of drink. About a half a mile from their houses there lived a respectable rich man who was very fond of children and was very kind to the poor. Some people say that he was a pedlar, and others say he was not.
The lazy men were jealous of this good man and they planned to rob him. The next day the rich man went, for a day to Drogheda. When he was returning home he was very tired and sleepy. When he came to the Navan side of Fitzherbert's field he heard something in the bushes. Suddenly six men came out of the bushes with revolvers in their hands. The rich man knew one of the men and he said to him "Tom you are not going to kill me." Immediately(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
