  2. Mr. Pat Newman who lives in Wood, Kildalkey was born 20 May 1871 the year of the Big Mission. He began his Poetic Career at the age 16 in Old Moores Almananc. He is also known to have written poems for St. Patrick's Magazine, now defunct.
    He treats history in great detail particularly of his native Meath. He may also be said to posesses some of the real old Irish Blarney.
    Mr. Newman is said to have inherited the gift from his mother's side of the family.
