About a hundred years ago there lived down beside Clondalee Bog a farmer names John Hevey.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
was the bride near ready. As soon as he said this the farmer came down out of the room leading the Kerry cow and she all dressed up in silks and satins and a veil on her head just like a bride.
The lads put Ned up on her back and gave him a few whacks of a stick and drove him away.
No one knows where they went but neither Ned nor the cow was ever heard of again. Whenever the people in the locality hear of anybody being too covetous they say he wont stop till he gets what Ned Muldoon got when he went to look for the wife.
