Clondalee Beg, Hill of Down, Co. Meath.About a hundred years ago there lived down beside Clondalee bog a farmer named John Hevey. He was fairly well off and had two big strong daughters into the bargain. There lived down near Killyon Chapel an old miser of a lad named Ned Muldoon. Ned had hundreds of pounds and the only thing he was really badly off for was a wife. He thought Heveys daughters were the best and most hard-working girls he knew. He resolved to go up one Sunday evening so he got Mickie Hynes the matchmaker to go with him. They landed in Heveys and told they farmer what they wanted.
