- There are three forges in this district. There is one in Ringlestown, one in Dunsany and another in Bective. The forge in Ringlestown is owned by Patrick Ward. This forge was not always where it is now. When Patrick Wards' grandfather owned it, it was built opposite "Ringlestown House" gates. But he did not like the place in which it was built and he had it removed to its present position. It now stands on the side of the road in the centre of Ringlestown.
Patrick Wards forge is attached to one end of the house. The forge is about one and a half feet lower than the house. The forge itself is built of wood and galvanised iron. The door is about five feet in width and about seven feet high.
Besides shoeing horses Patrick Ward shoes cart wheels, fixes new pins in harrows and mends the farm implements.
