  1. A man called Leonard owned the property of Warrenstown. This time he was spending a holiday in the Holy Land. He dropped his walking stick in the River Jordan.
Some years afterwards he noticed one of his cows always licking a large stone in one of his fields. To gratify his curiosity he got the stone removed. Immediately water gushed forth and up comes the long lost walking stick.
The well was called St John's well from St John's connection with the Jordan.
Crowds used to visit this well on June 24th.The water is said to bubble up at 12 o'c midnight on St John's eve.
