    Wood sorrel chopped up finely mixed with Lard is good for sores of every description
    For Boils; Plantain leaf for boils and swellings. Take out the tough veins of the leaf and chop finely. Make some oatmeal gruel and pour over the chopped leaves. Apply as an ointment. The whole leaf is also applied to cuts.
    The lady mautle: A plant which used to grow in the vicinity was an infallible cure for burns. It was chopped and mixed with unsalted butter. The blesses Virgin is supposed to have touched it sometime hence its virtue.
    Leaves of the elder tree boiled in oatmeal and water was good for boils and swellings of any kind
