- A family called Butler (Protestants) got possession of the property after the Cusacks.
On one occasion Mrs Butler was giving a garden party and thought one of these stones which was covered with Latin writing might be an obycel of interest to her guests especially as one of these guests was a Protestant bishop.
She removed the stone from the graveyard or chapel site and set it in the garden for the party.
The day appointed for this open air entertainment rained so heavily that the party had to be postponed to a later date. On which the same thing happened. The removal of the stone was supposed to be the cause of this downpour so it was replaced.
The Rev John Brogan curate in Johnstown 1883-84 removed this stone to Moynalty on his transfer there as P.P.- Faisnéiseoir
