I asked P. Moore if there was any old marked stones in the vicinity and he told me to go Staffordstown graveyard and you'll see marked stones.
Staffordstown House and lands now belong to a Mr Roantree an extensive farmer.
Opposite the halldoor and within a few yards of a remarkable conical eminence is to be seen a small stone plot.
This is the "Graveyard" The middle is strewn with the debris of a broken or collapsed vault in the ruins of which may be seen two skulls and a leg bone.
On one of the stones is embossed a coat of arms and the date 1571.
There are two or three other hollow stones which look like ancient holy water fonts.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
