   Speaking of the Connacht harvesters he says that all were not consideratley treated by the farmers.

   James believes in fairies and says that a favourite haunt of theirs is the Raheen already mentioned.
   He himself when a young man was hurrying home from a dance one night and passing into the Raheen field he stepped on a "stray sod".
   After that he walked and walked through a strange land until he was exhausted.
   By 2 o'clock in the morning the spell passed off and he recognised his surroundings. His mother made light of his experience saying such were of common occurance at that time.
   James knows not a word of Irish, neither did his father or mother.
