  2. Marriage Long Ago
    Long ago when a girl got married, after her breakfast she and the bridegroom and the driver wold go off in the jaunting car for a drive. They would have the horse decorated with white ribbons and the jarvey would have a white ribbon on the top of his whip. They would not come home till that night. When they came home they would have a big Ceilthe and all the neighbours, both rich and poor would be asked to it. They would have the dance in the brides house.
    Shrove Tuesday and in April and June most marriages take place. Shrove Tuesday most people get married because it is the last day before Lent.
