- One night there was a man going along a road near Drogheda. On this road was a large tree beside a gate in a field.
The man was drunk and he lay down at the bottom of the tree and fell asleep. He slept there for a long time. When he woke up he saw a ring of fairies around him. Some playing football and the rest dancing round him. They spoke to him, and he spoke gently to them.
