- The Dominican Church is situated in Dominick Street which got its name from the Church. Near the Church in Balls Grove lived an old Protestant family. Every morning the bell used ring for Mass. The Protestants were greatly annoyed at this because it disturbed them from their sleep. The mistress of the house complained to the friar about the bell and she said that they could not sleep with the noise of the bell. The friar told her not to worry for she would never hear it again.
