    One morning in the summer season,
    I meant for tho take the fresh air,
    Dame nature made all things look pleasing
    Beside I was free from love's care
    It's to a nice grove I did wander
    My course to the south I did steer,
    When a handsome young maid tall and slender
    Met me near the town of Dunleer.
    I stood in extreme contemplation,
    At length those few words
