- When the Dominicans came to Domn Street first, there were people living in the Grove which is the other side of Domnics bridge, whose name were Ball's of course those people were Protestants. Every morning at seven o'clock the bell was rung in the Dominican to let the people know that there was Mass being celebrated there. After a while those Protestant people began to complain about the bell disturbing their slumbers so early in the morning.
One evening the woman went to the Prior to complain about the bell disturbing their slumbers so early in the morning, and the Prior told her to go home and she need never worry about the bell in the morning again.
