Belpatrick is an agricultural district. People keep cattle, horses and pigs; and till the ground. The crops are late as it is a late district, the ground being elevated and cold.
There are heavy falls of snow frequently and it remains long on the ground. When it comes in February or March it is very severe and leaves the spring work late.
It is not good land for wheat at it ripens too slowly.
Of late years Beet has been grown here, also Tobacco.
People keep cows and have separators and sell the butter in the Drogheda market.
They also sell fowl and turkeys at the Christmas markets for Drogheda and Ardee.
