- When Speaker Foster lived in the corner House, Collon, he was annoyed by the appearance of a lazy fellow, who used to stand at the Corner, every day smoking.
He wanted to get rid of him, so he called him one day and gave ten shillings to take a letter to the Governor of Dundalk Gaol.
He wrote in the letter:-"Detain the bearer of this note for three months."The Speaker Foster had great power and his word was law.
The man took the letter & and money and went off. when going through Castlebellingham he went in for refreshment. Here he met another mendicant of the road. They got into conversation and he told him where he was going - to Dundalk Gaol with the letter.
The other man said that he was going to Dundalk.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
