    There is an oak tree growing out of the mound and a blackthorn bush growing at one side of it and an elder growing out of the wall that surrounds the mound.
    There is an old story which says that Columcille prophesied that when a black pig ran from somewhere in the west of Ireland to Crock an Alluis Ireland would be free.
