    A hedge schoolmaster taught at Mosycon at Strinagh.

    Sometimes the scholars sat around him on the floor, and sometimes on small three-legged stools.
    The scholars wrote in a bold upright fasion and wrote with pens made from goos-quills and the ink was made from elder berries.
    He taught French and Greek and Irish to the children.

They are now in the possession of Peter Boyle, Grangegeeth. The teacher's name was Owen Farrelly, a local man. Spelling is what he mostly taught and then each child had a sheet of paper on which he gave them
