  1. Many tricks are played on Hallow Eve. Men and boys hang gates up on trees on Hallow Eve and blacken their faces. They used to take down gates and put them in front of the doors the way the people would not be able to get out in the morning. Get lead and a hot iorn and put the lead in through the keyhole and let it fall into a can of water. The lead will form images. Get an apple, peele the skin off without breaking it and throw it across your shoulder and it will form the initials of the person to whom you will be married.
    We burn nuts also.
