A family named Mathews nicknamed "The Galloughs" were expert basket makers, at Mullacrew up to about 20 years ago, when the surviving member "Tom the Gallough" a well known character died.
Mullacrew also boasted a cooper and a member of the Kelly still bears that sobriquet.
