- Children wore boots from two years of age long ago. There are no old people who never wore boots.
Boys go in their bare feet in summer and girls wear light shoes to keep their feet from the stones.
They would go in their barefeet from May day to middle of September.
There is no particular thing done with the water used for washing the feet.
Boots are not made locally but they are repaired.
There are three shoemakers in the district at present. There are not as many shoemakers now as there were long ago because people kept boots mended long ago.
Clogs were made and worn in this district long ago. They are not worn now.
Leather was not made in this district at any time.
There was no special covering of leather worn.
