Another really good cure for a sty was to wash the eye every morning with cold tea. This is not a superstition as it has proved to be a real effective eye lotion
Some kind of sore called the "rose" is supposed to be cured by sending the sufferer out to a bog for mud and getting him to rub it on the spot. This is to be done every day for seven days and by that time the complaint is supposed to be cured.
Cobwebs were considered great healers for cuts on the hands or fingers. They were put over the freshly cut wound and kept on till the bleeding stopped. They were supposed to have great healing properties.- Bailitheoir
