    and spend the night telling old tales of long ago.
    There are five houses in ruins in Muchgrange. It is about thirty years since the occupants emigrated to America. After the famine times these people had to leave their homes and go to foreign countries to earn a living. For want of repain their old homes fell in and are in ruins ever since.
    The land around my home is very boggy as we live in lowlands. For many years the lands round my dwelling place were not properly drained and when bad winters came the rivers overflowed the surrounding area. The new drainage scheme has now started and in a few years this wet soil will be dry and fertile again.
