- Long ago marriages were very numerous and many customs were used in their celebration.
It was customary for the bridegroom to go to church first on horseback and the bride in the last car. When the ceremony was over the bridegroom and the bride usually came home together in the first car.
When a marriage was to be celebrated the parties to be married should wear something old and something new something borrowed and something blue. It was the old men who made the match and all agreements concerning land money. Any arrangement they made was promptly carried out.
