  1. Tom Malone of Main Street Miltown Malbay was the champion of the world for running. He could do the 100 yards in 8 seconds. He could thrown 1/2 cwt 22 feet off his shoulder. He was an all around athlete.
    Anthony Hennessy of Church Road was a remarkable dancer. He won many prizes
    Shaun Oconnor of Ballyvaskin used to mow an acre of hay in the day. Paddy Burke of Freigh used also do it.
    Jerry Courtney of the Ennistymon Road used to reap a quarter of oats in the day.
    Dan Cleary of of Ilane was a remarkably strong man. He knocked a horse
