Cure for Chin Cough in Children
A little herb or weed (which I believe is the pimpernel) is used locally as a sure preventative of the above named disease.
The plant is boiled in milk and the hot milk given to the children who are in danger of getting the disease.
A sample of the plan is enclosed herein.
Got from an old woman named Bridget Markam, Age 68

    Cure for Scour in Calves
Another herb (probably "celandine") is used in this district as a cure for the above. It is boiled in the milk and given to the affected herd.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
