- When two farmers meet they usually speak about the weather. They have signs from whichthey can foretell the kind of weather. Here are some:
(1) When sea gulls come into the land
it is a sign of rain
(2) If the sun is red when setting it is a
sign of fine weather.
(3) If the sky is blue by night and the
stars sparkling it is a sign of frost
(4) When the sky is very black it is the
sign of a storm.
(5) When the spider creeps from his
web it is a sign of rain.
(6) When the flies are near the earth it
is a sign of rain.
(7) If soot is falling it is a sign of rain.
(8) If the curlews fly high it is an
indication of soft weather.- Faisnéiseoir
