- How sugans are made
An arm full of straw or strong hay is got, also a twisting bow to twist the sugan. The twisting bow is made by putting a bow at one end (as shown in diagram). Then put a piece of strong rope from a to b. The twisting bow is now made.
One man sits on the chair to feed the sugan. The man feeding the sugan damps his hand to prevent the sugan from slipping.
Another person twists the twisting bow. A long "masg" of hay is got, and put around "a" . A pull must be kept on the sugan to prevent it from "costrime".- Faisnéiseoir
